Biden’s words fowl in DeSantis’ mouth

How can identical words be “offense” only when uttered by a Republican politician?  Ron DeSantis, the Trump-supported candidate for governor of Florida, said of his Democratic opponent, “He’s an articulate spokesman for far-left views, and he’s a charismatic candidate.”  The sensible among us would recognize such descriptors as inherently complimentary.

Not so with the free speech-repressing politically correct crowd.  From DeSantis the left automatically heard “racist dog whistles” because the Democratic nominee is Andrew Gillum, the progressive mayor of Tallahassee, who happens to be black.  By contrast, the left remains silent as crickets that Joe Biden used the same language to describe then presidential candidate Barack Obama in 2007:

“I mean you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s storybook, man.”

Obviously the faux outrage is only reserved for representatives of the anti-bigotry party of Lincoln.  Unfortunately, this tempest in a teapot was further inflamed by Mr. DeSantis’ unsavvy reference to “monkey this up” by embracing Mr. Gillum’s socialist agenda.  For political polarization, Democrats assume the worst, most twisted  interpretation of GOP gaffes: a quality completely ignored in their own candidates.  With the left's linguistic double standard, truth is an easy sacrifice for an ill-gotten political advantage.

Democrats Play Misty For Me

From a political perspective, Bruce (Caitlyn) Jenner's true bravery was coming out publicly as Republican, not transgender. In Hollywood (a cliche of hypocritical limousine liberals like Angelina Jolie) being Republican is equivalent to a 21st century Underground Railroad. Something hidden and said in whispers: "to the right, to freedom!" When making such a public pronouncement, one either has to be untouchable—an industry titan like Clint Eastwood—or suffer Stacey Dash's fate of being blackballed, and fired by her representation (CESD, secured only last September). Ms. Dash said, “I just lost my agent because of my political beliefs.” As a modern day virtual Harriet Tubman, might our country be better served by putting Ms. Dash's face on that 20 dollar bill?

That's something America's first black president would never advocate. Why not? Because everything progressive Barack Obama does is literally a skin-deep political calculation. Therefore, as Ms. Dash is conservative, her views don't fit his fascist worldview. For example, Mr. Obama's “conversion” to gay marriage proponent wasn't about equal rights, it was about pumping a dwindling funding source. (And everybody knows: Mr. Obama is all about fundraising. Similarly, corrupt Hillary Clinton is all about the Benjamins in “Clinton Cash”.)

To Democrats, what the almighty dollar buys—political power—is their god. They care nothing for the rule of law unless it dovetails with their “1984” style hard left agenda. Likewise, they care nothing for the lives of their supporters (read: the death toll in Chicago). Minorities are simply pawns on a chess board to be manipulated—and sacrificed. Speaking of pawns, the Democrat Party is running two transgender candidates, both coincidentally named Misty. Is it just me or does Misty Snow (Utah) and Misty Plowright (Colorado) sound like the stage names for adult entertainers rather than serious political contenders? In any case, they both have a porn star's shot at success. Even the Democrats acknowledge that amounts to zero in November.

Recall that Utah has not elected a Democrat to the U.S. Senate during Misty Snow's 30 years of life. As Democrats are all about political power, bet your bottom dollar they would field a more traditional candidate if they had any possibility of winning. Since they don't, they very happily make empty political gestures that cost them nothing:

“We're going to lose anyway; we might as well make a statement about inclusion,” gay state Sen. Jim Dabakis (D-UT) told the Associated Press.

Applaud Bruce Jenner’s courage

By THE WASHINGTON TIMES - - Monday, April 27, 2015

As a Christian, Republican and transgender individual, Bruce Jenner demonstrates that the conservative umbrella is just as diverse and inclusive as its squawking liberal counterpart (“Bruce Jenner: I’m a Republican and a Christian,” Web, April 25). Today gay conservative voices — most notably Washington Times columnist Tammy Bruce — champion the truth that the Republican party has evolved to a greater degree of social acceptance.

This shift parallels Mr. Jenner’s own personal journey to self-acceptance. In the 1970s as an Olympian, Mr. Jenner epitomized that age’s American spirit and representation of athletic masculinity. Over the proceeding decades societal views of what it is to symbolize the American male (or a Republican, for that matter) have changed favorably to include broader definitions.
Mr. Jenner’s gender orientation aside, to the liberal, sycophantic circle fest that is Hollywood, coming out as Republican is a true act of bravery and defiance.

Naysayers who claim that Mr. Jenner’s transition is nothing more than a publicity stunt designed to earn a few bucks don’t begin to understand the degree of Mr. Jenner’s personal courage.

When the inner gender identity does not match one’s outer appearance it is like being a prisoner in one’s own body. Psychologically I can think of nothing tougher. To compound that internal, private struggle with the very public glare of celebrity by coming out as transgender — and Republican — must be, to one’s character, a trial by fire. By comparison, the pressures of Mr. Jenner’s past Olympic victories appear small. An NBC poll indicated that a staggering 41 percent of transgender people in the United States have attempted to commit suicide. That statistic is a completely ignored epidemic. And similar to his Olympic glory that inspired a past generation, Mr. Jenner’s tenacious example to follow his own path will inspire and save the lives of a new generation of at-risk gender-questioning young people who know nothing of Mr. Jenner’s decades-old decathlon gold metal. Bruce Jenner should be embraced for his dedication to the truth and his conservatism.
